Jury Verdict for Industrial Property Owners

Lorri Michel and Shane Rogers secured a verdict against Bexar Appraisal District for its valuation of an industrial cold storage facility. The case, which went to trial in the 288th District Court,^[1] concerned the equal and uniform valuation of multiple cold storage properties for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 tax years. The jury agreed that Bexar Appraisal District failed to equally and uniformly value the properties for the majority of the tax years. The jury reduced the values by nearly 50% and awarded attorneys fees amounting to $122,000.
